2024 Gift of Hearing Recipient – Karen Thompson
Over the past year, I’ve experienced gradual hearing loss. At first, I thought it was simply age-related. However, after being diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 breast cancer and undergoing radiation treatment, my hearing loss worsened significantly. It has become very difficult for me to hear others, even when they are sitting right next to me.
I’m excited and deeply grateful to receive the generous Gift of Hearing- hearing aids and treatment plan. I look forward to being able to function better in my daily life and reconnect with my husband, helping him feel more included in my world again.
